IMPACT
SCHOLARSHIP
In 2025, we provided one Abby Hornung Memorial Scholarship, and in 2026 we will be provided four more to students pursuing degrees in the mental health field.
CARE BAGS
We have provided care kits for staff in mental health crisis units. These kits go to staff members experiencing trauma situations at work or very high stress days, including at PPI, PhilHaven, and Dauphin Connections 24/7 Crisis Center. We also provided personal care items for UPMC’s Children’s Advocacy Center.
BLANKETS & TOYS
We have provided fleece blankets, stuffed animals and stress toys, to PhilHaven's inpatient adolescent unit, as well as weighted blankets, weighted vests and weighted plush to PPI. We have also provided stress toys to Connections 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Center's mobile adolescent crisis unit.
MUSIC THERAPY
We purchased a keyboard for music therapy at PPI, as well as training materials for the PPI staff.
CLASSES
We have co-sponsored two Suicide Awareness Classes with Dauphin County Aspire (QPR – Question. Persuade. Refer). We promote suicide prevention training and mental health information from area agencies.
SNACKS
We have provided drinks and snacks for mental health staff appreciation events at PPI and Philhaven, as well as for a teen event with the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
